Wilma Stepp and Kenneth Stepp (above) became married on June 3, 1988. On May 2, 2006, Kenneth Stepp was endorsed by the Lexington Herald-Leader for United States House of Representatives in the May 16 Kentucky Democratic Primary for the Kentucky Fifth District. The large daily newspaper noted "Vote Stepp in 5th District" and explained, "Still, if Democrats are looking to register some protest--against Rogers, Republicans or Washington, in general--Kenneth Stepp, a Barbourville bankruptcy lawyer and political moderate is the choice." On May 1, Kenneth and Wilma Stepp attended the Somerset meeting of the Democratic Women's Club, and the candidate spoke with the Democratic women concerning his plans for the next session of Congress.
