Polls show Democrats lead in generic U.S. House races.

"Fox News Poll: Dems Lead By 18 Over GOP In Generic Congressional Ballot
"This must be so difficult for Fox News to report, but in polling released today, Democrats hold a staggering 18-point lead over Republicans in the generic congressional ballot, 48% to 30%. The Democratic number is at its all-time high during the Bush administration and the Republican number is at an all-time low. In July, Democrats led 42% to 34%.
Other highlights in the Fox News-commissioned poll shows:
In terms of overall favorability, the Democratic Party is rated 47% favorable versus 37% unfavorable, for a net +10. The Republican Party is viewed favorably by 38% and unfavorably by 51%, a net -13;
"Independents prefer Rep. Nancy Pelosi (D) as the next Speaker of the House by a 26% to 12% margin over current Speaker Dennis Hastert (R);
Independents prefer the Democrat over the Republican on a generic congressional ballot by a 38% to 14% margin.
