"Fort Campbell soldier killed in Afghanistan

FORT CAMPBELL, Ky. — A soldier with the 101st Airborne Division has been killed during an attack in eastern Afghanistan.
The U.S. Army says 21-year-old Spc. Brian Tabada of Las Vegas died Feb. 27 in the Kunar province. The Army says Tabada suffered fatal injuries when his unit came under fire from small arms and a rocket propelled grenade.
Tabada was assigned to the 1st Battalion, 327th Infantry Regiment, 1st Brigade Combat Team, based at Fort Campbell, the sprawling military post on the Kentucky-Tennessee state line.
He joined the Army in August 2008 and arrived at Fort Campbell in January 2009. He is survived by his father, Muncko Kruize of Honolulu, Hawaii, and Leinette Mahan of Las Vegas.
